•How long have you been piercing?: Since the 1900’s!!! I started piercing 32 years ago (as of 2025) in Los Angeles. A sharp geographical and cultural shift from the 90’s in LA to our little capital city now!

•What’s your favorite type of tattoo/piercing to do?: The particular piercings don’t matter much after doing 1000’s of each. I mostly enjoy
the interaction and getting to be part of someone’s moment.
Bonus favorite points if I get to pierce with a piece of jewelry I crafted here at Marigold!

•What’s something you wish more clients knew?: I wish more clients knew that the ouchie part is over in a second and the hard part is healing for many many months.
I also wish they knew how much pressure and weight we carry trying our best. It’s an honor that clients trust us with their bodies and
we see that as a significant responsibility.

•What do you love most about your job?: I get to combine multiple special interests involving biology, public health, material sciences, cultural trends and rites of passage!

•How did you get started in the industry?: I got my tongue pierced the summer of 1993 and hung out for 2 hours talking (with the fresh piercing!) about how cool piercing was. The idea that this could be a job and a business was captivating. I started my apprenticeship that week. It’s amazing to look back on the industry as it has evolved and grown and changed…for both positive and negative.

•What's something you collect?: Information. Knowing how things work and learning new skills is the ultimate collection.

•If you could have any superpower what would it be?: 1st choice would be to know the answer to any question.
2nd choice would be the ability to telepathically communicate with all dogs.

•What's your favorite smell?: Jasmine flowers blooming on Venice Beach walk streets.

•What’s the dumbest thing that makes you laugh everytime?: When a baby does that uncontrollable deep belly cackle laugh! So contagious!

•What fictional character do you relate to?: The unnamed nonexistent 3rd main character from the X Files.
The character that is a contrast and overlap between Mulder and Skully.
It’s the energy that exists between them simultaneously questioning everything and wanting to believe. The truth is out there!!
